China Plans to Build 100 Bln Cubic Metres of Natural Gas Capacity in Sichuan

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): China’s National Energy Administration plans to construct 100 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas production capacity in the Sichuan Basin, state-run newspaper Sichuan Daily said on Sunday.

The report did not say by when the capacity will be added, nor how much the expansion will cost.

Natural gas output will hit 45 bcm by 2020, according to the current, 13th five-year plan for energy development in Sichuan province, the report said.

In 2019, Sichuan’s natural gas output target is 36 bcm, the report said.

China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) aims to raise natural gas output to 50 bcm in Sichuan by 2025.
