Equinor Announced New Oil and Gas Discovery in the North Sea

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Equinor and partners announced new oil and gas discovery in the Fram area, nine kilometres north of the Troll field in the North Sea. The discovery is being named as F-South.

One exploratory well has found petroleum in two reservoirs, a corporate news release stated. While one discovery is solely gas, the other has both gas and oil. Between 0.1 and 1.1 million standard cubic meters are thought to be the total amount of resources. According to the statement, the discovery will be connected to current or upcoming infrastructure.

COSL Innovator dug the well. The findings were found in production license 090's exploration well 35/11-31 S. INPEX Idemitsu Norge and Var Energy are the project's other partners.

The other discoveries made in the area include Echino South, Swisher, Rover North, Blasto, Toppand, Kveikje, Rover South, Heisenberg, Crino/Mulder, Rhombi and Ringand.

The findings are being reported in an intriguing region with a sophisticated infrastructure, according to Geir Sortveit, senior vice president for Exploration & Production at Equinor. In recent years, the company has made a number of discoveries in nearby regions, and it intends to conduct more research there. He noted that it anticipates finding more gas and oil in the area.
