SEATTLE (Oil Monster): French supermajor TotalEnergies is reportedly eyeing a return to Indonesia’s exploration sector, more than seven years after it handed over Mahakam — its flagship producing upstream asset in the country — to national oil company Pertamina.
TotalEnergies has again turned its focus to Southeast Asia, not least as the company looks to boost its gas and liquefied natural gas portfolio, and last year agreed to acquire SapuraOMV Upstream via two deals valued at a combined US$1 billion-plus.
Now, the French company has its sights on farming in to Petronas’ Bobara production sharing contract offshore Indonesia, according to a local media report.
