SEATTLE (Oil Monster): The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project in Uganda has reached a major milestone. Panyu Chu Kong Steel Pipe Co., Ltd, the supplier of line pipes to the project announced that it is in the process of delivering the first batch of 100 kilometres of pipes. The flag off ceremony to mark delivery to the port of Tanga in Tanzania is scheduled to be held on 30th October, 2023.
In a meeting with a delegation of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU), Mr. Xie Leshan, President, PCK noted that the company is committed to ensure timely delivery of pipes for the project. The delegation paid a visit to the PCK’s Pipe Mill in Lianyungang. In addition, it also visited professional companies that are associated with various oil and gas projects in Uganda.
In a statement released yesterday, PAU noted that the China visit is reflective of the collaborative efforts between Uganda and China in the oil and gas sector, with special focus on timely execution of key projects including EACOP. Apart from significant economic impacts, the collaboration will also contribute immensely to the development and growth of oil and gas industries in both the countries.
