The new pipeline section will enhance the infrastructure for exporting natural gas from Israel to Egypt. This will not only provide big boost to the potential volume of natural gas exports to Egypt, but also increase the options for alternative export path for exporting gas from Egypt to European countries, especially in the wake of constraints on account of Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The new 65-kilometere long pipeline will lead to exports of additional six billion cubic meters (BCM) of natural gas to Egypt. This will boost INGL’s revenue by NIS 200 million per annum.

Israel Katz, Minister of National Infrastructures, Energy and Water Resources said that the pipeline will increase the co-operation between Israel and Egypt in the field of natural gas.
