Norway’s Natural Gas Output Dropped in June

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Norway's natural gas production decreased in June of this year, according to preliminary statistics made public by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD). After declining for four consecutive months, the output reached 292.3 million standard cubic meters per day (MMscmd).

The output results for June were more than 3% higher than NOD's output prediction. Nonetheless, there was a 2.2% monthly drop in production. Additionally, the output was 15.5% lower than it was in the same month the previous year.

In the second quarter of this year, natural gas sales decreased from 30.87 billion standard cubic meters (Bscm) in the first quarter to 28.2 Bscm. June's gas sales were 8.8 Bscm, which was 0.5 Bscm less than the previous month.

According to the European Commission's quarterly market report, Norway remained the leading provider of gas in the first quarter of 2025, contributing about 31% of the 21.7 Bcm total deliveries. With over half of the supplies, the nation was also the biggest pipeline gas supplier in Europe.

In June of this year, the nation's oil production averaged 1.68 million barrels per day (MMbd), a decrease of 3% year over year and 6.4% month over month. The number was 3.1% higher than the NOD prediction.
