Norwegian Oil and Gas Output Beats Forecast in April

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): In April of this year, Norway's total oil and gas production surpassed the official estimate. According to the most recent official statistics issued by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD), the output in April of this year exceeded the prediction by 1.2%.

Throughout the month, 0.663 million standard cubic meters of gas, oil, condensate, and natural gas liquids were produced daily. About 4.17 million barrels of oil equivalent are represented by this. April 2025 output is somewhat lower by 2.4% as compared to the same month last year.

In April 2024, Norway produced 339.8 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas per day. This is in contrast to 346.8 mcm in the same month last year. On its website, NOD stated that the production was 1.3% more than the projected amount of 335.6 mcm.

Additionally, the regulator's preliminary data shows that crude oil production decreased slightly from 1.84 million barrels per day (bpd) in April 2024 to 1.83 million bpd in April of this year. Nonetheless, crude oil production was about 3.5% higher than the 1.77 million barrels per day predicted.

Norway is a major oil producer in the region and the largest natural gas supplier in Europe, with over 90 offshore fields.
