SEATTLE (Oil Monster): In February of this year, Norway produced 355.1 million standard cubic meters per day (MMscmd) of natural gas. According to official figures, the production for the month was up from the previous month's production of 346.1 Mmscmd and exceeded the official projection by 3.8%.
In February of this year, the nation sold 9.9 billion standard cubic meters (Bscm) of natural gas. This represents a huge 800 MMscm decrease from January 2025. It should be mentioned that, in contrast to the previous sales record of 122.8 Bscm set in 2022, Norway's natural gas output set a new record in 2024 with sales reaching 124 Bscm. According to the Norwegian Offshore Directorate, the record output was a result of increased capacity after renovations in 2023 and high field regularity.
In January 2025, the nation produced 1.78 million barrels of oil per day (MMbd); by February 2025, that amount had dropped to 1.72 MMbd.
In 2024, Norway's total oil and gas output surpassed 240 MMscm of oil equivalent, the highest since 2009.
Approximately 37% of the continental shelf's hydrocarbon production came from the Troll and Johan Sverdrup fields. Last year, Troll alone produced a record 42.5 Bscm of gas, nearly three times the nation's typical yearly hydropower output.
