Dangote Refinery Received Fourth Shipment of Crude Oil Feedstock

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Dangote Refinery has received its fourth shipment of crude oil feedstock. The shipment of one million barrels of bonny light crude came from Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited. The statement released by the Dangote Oil Refining Company stated that the fifth shipment will be received soon.

According to the company, the preparations for the commencement of production in Dangote refinery are in top gear, after having received the fourth crude shipment. The fifth shipment is expected any time soon, it said.

The latest shipment is the fourth out of the six expected consignments expected to make the refinery start production. Once all the six million barrels are delivered, the refinery will commence production of diesel, aviation fuel, liquefied petroleum gas and premium motor spirit.

The refinery had received its maiden one million barrels of Agbami crude grade from the Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (STASCO) during the first week of December 2023. The second and third shipments were delivered towards the end of the previous year.

According to Akin Omole, managing director of Dangote port operations, the refinery is supposed to receive the remaining two shipments during early-January this year.
