Artic Solar is manufacturing an advanced solar thermal technology in Jacksonville, FL.  We are producing a patented collector (XCPC) which generates temperatures of up to 400°F/200° C without tracking.     High Temperature Solar using the XCPC collectors provide enough Heat, in a small enough footprint, to be truly practical for Commercial and Industrial applications. Artic Solar produces a patented collector the XCPC which generates temperatures of up to 400°F/200°C without tracking.  This is a game changer for the industrial and commercial markets because we can now economically offer our systems to meet their heating needs whether it is Industrial Process Heat, Hot Water or Steam anywhere across the Globe.  Our Industrial Process Heat applications (which is what we do best), as well as Absorption Chilling & Refrigeration, Water Clean-Up (Desalination/Evaporation/Pasteurization) and ORC electricity production are among the Solar Thermal solutions we have for many industries.

Oil & Gas

Oil & Gas Artic Solar can now green up the oil and gas industry and save them money.  Our collectors are able to reach the necessary temperatures up to 400° F to heat solutions used in the oil extraction process.  But that is not, all we can provide the hot water or steam used to clean up radiators and clean up, recover or evaporate the process water before disposal. Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) is a term for processes used to increase the amount of crude oil that can be extracted from an oil field. Solar EOR uses concentrated solar power to concentrate the sun’s energy to heat water and generate steam. Give us a call to learn more.

Mining

Mining and remote locations are the most promising market opportunity for solar thermal technologies. In copper mining, water is fundamentally used in the traditional flotation benefaction process, in smelting and electro refining or in the hydro-metallurgical process, which consists of leaching, solvent extraction and electro winning.  The water temperature for this type of extraction is approximately 140°F/60°C. These temperatures are easily generated by the XCPC as a replacement of diesel for electrolyte heating.  Higher temperatures may speed up the process and significantly reduce GHG.
