Geothermal Energy

  Geothermal is the most constant and reliable form of alternative energy. It is commonly used for pool heating and home/business hydronics heating. Geothermal heat is also used to produce electricity. However, since geothermal heat is relatively cool in the scope of energy production its efficiency at electric production is very limited.  Aurora Power and Design has installed and maintained many geothermal pool and hydronic systems. Hydro Power

  Hydro Power is a very economical and reliable source of alternative energy. It can be harnessed from any stream or river with a significant elevation change.  It is simple to predict an approximate amount of energy that may be extracted at a site. However, implementation can be very difficult for standard construction companies. When implementing a hydro turbine system: extensive history of the stream must be analyzed, measures must be taken to protect the habitats of fish and other stream wildlife, the system must be built extremely reliable requiring little maintenance, and the correct governing authorities must be informed. These and many other criteria must be considered for an economical and reliable hydro system.  Aurora Power & Design has designed and installed many hydro systems, and understands the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of this process. Solar Electric

  Solar electric is often referred to as solar PV or solar Photovoltaic. Solar PV panels are only about 15% efficient, but convert the suns energy directly into convenient electricity.  Solar PV panels are extremely reliable, usually with 20 to 30 year manufacturer warranties. They are an excellent choice for mobile or back country power solutions because once they are correctly installed they are essentially maintenance free.

Wind Power 

The availability of wind power varies greatly by location. Where wind is constant, it can prove to be a reliable source of grid-tied and off-grid power. However where winds are sporadic, wind power may not be economically feasible.
