B.G. Mellinger & Son is a family owned and operated business (a home oil company) that has been a part of the community since 1880. Our goal is to provide friendly efficient service with a personal touch. One way we have chosen to do that is to have a “real person” answer the phone during regular office hours, not an electronic voice menu. We have a service department that is “on call” 24/7 so that our customers can have peace of mind that their heating and cooling needs are taken care of. Our History 

In March of 1880 Benjamin G Mellinger and his brother William bought the train station from Andrew Mehaffey and started B.G. Mellinger & Son. The train station was on the Philadelphia & Reading rail line that ran from Lancaster to Quarryville. B.G. Mellinger & Son served the community with freight service, coal, lumber, and passenger service. In February of 1893 John Wanamaker commissioned Baumgardner station as a post office. As the trolley system developed in the early 1900’s the mail and passenger service ended.

B.G. Mellinger & Son has several ways to have your fuel oil delivered.

• Delivery can be set up with approved credit or budget amounts.
• For Customers who have not set up a credit account and can not be at home at the time of delivery it is also possible to leave a check for the driver or prepay on your account so that oil can be delivered without you being home.
• Delivery can be set up with approved credit or COD at time of delivery.
• As an additional service to you the customer the driver can bleed the pump if your tank has run out of oil. Our oil delivery company does not charge extra for this service if the driver can do it at the time of delivery.

AIR CONDITIONING

We sell and install the full line Thermo Pride Air Conditioning equipment from simple replacement to full system design and installation.  We also service most other brands whether older R22 systems or new environmentally friendly R410A systems.

HEATING SYSTEMS

We sell and install the quality line of Burnham boilers and Thermo Pride furnaces for complete home oil heating systems. We also service just about any brand of oil fired home heating equipment.
