The principal promoters of the business are Wayne Byrne, Peter Carey, Declan Murray, and Evan Dolan. The promoters have deep capabilities in the waste, energy, renewables and clean technology sectors. Wayne Byrne and his former management team (including Declan and Evan) disposed of a major waste equipment supply company, Manvik Group, in September 2009. Manvik had over 80 staff, operated in Ireland, UK and NI and turned over in excess of €40M.

BioCore has an annual turnover of circa €1,000,000 and have established a significant presence on the UK and Ireland. BioCore now manage over 12,000 tonnes of sludge and currently have 8 staff employed.
BioCore are at various stages of development on three major renewable energy projects (Biogas 25MW+) which rely on the direct, and indirect, use of sludge for feedstock. BioCore broke ground on their first major project in July 2013 which will have an installed capacity of 7MW of thermal energy. The Ellough AD plant will produce approximately 2,000m3/hour of green biogas, one of the largest gas to grid projects in the UK.
BioCore’s long term aim is to use this resource potential for renewable energy generation and recovery of commercial grade fertilisers for farmland. Our core service offering is the recycling of wastewater sludge and commercial biosolids for energy generation and we are currently targeting wastewater operators, and food producers in the UK & Ireland with very compelling propositions.
