• Our biodiesel is distilled. Distilling biodiesel is an extra polishing step where we boil the undistilled biodiesel and remove any potential solids/impurities that can clog fuel filters. 
• Biodiesel is playing a key role in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.  Life cycle analysis completed by Argonne National Laboratory found that biodiesel use reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 74% compared with petroleum diesel.  Biodiesel also improves fuel lubricity and raises the cetane number of the fuel. The higher the number, the better the fuel burns within the engine of a vehicle .
• Our 40 million gallon per year waste to biodiesel plant is the newest (2018) and one of the largest plants in North America.  Based in Memphis, Tennessee, we have access to all the major railroads and the Mississippi river.
• Our clean product and advanced facility make us a preferred supplier of biodiesel to some of the largest travel center operators in US. 

Meet our team

• Abhishek founded BDG in 2010 and has served as the CEO since 2012.  He founded Lotus Capital, a private equity firm in 2007 and has served as Managing Partner since.  Abhishek’s prior experiences include working at Cohen & Company, a venture capital firm, in the industrial and technology industry, as well as experience as an entrepreneur in the ecommerce and software industry.  He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and BA in Economics from University of Rochester and attended MS in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University.
• Christian joined BDG in 2013.  He is Partner at TCR, a private equity firm, which he joined in 2004.  Prior to starting at TCR, Christian worked as an associate at Unisphere, Inc., an investment firm focused on commercializing federally sponsored technologies. He holds a BA from Duke University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
• Hunter joined BDG in 2017.  Prior to BDG, he was a Plant Manager at Pacific Ethanol, a leading ethanol producer.  Hunter also worked as Production Team Leader at Roquette, a global leader in plant-based ingredients, as well as a managing engineer at a biodiesel plant. He holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from University of Tennessee, Knoxville. 
• Michael joined BDG in 2017.  Prior to BDG, he worked in various production and engineering roles for over 20 years at BASF, Ciba Specialty Chemicals, and CPS Chemicals.  He holds a BE in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and an MS in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
