(BBE) the natural gas supply arm of the Clarke-Mobile Counties Gas District (CMC), was formed in 2008 by the City of Jackson, AL, the City of Thomasville, AL and the Town of Grovehill, AL under Act No 762, Alabama 1951, and the “Gas District Act” and is a municipally owned corporation.
BBE issued $523 Million in revenue bonds to purchase the gas supply from Royal Bank of Canada. CMC will purchase approximately 4,000 MMBtu per day from BBE for its system customers. The bonds are non-recourse to CMC or the member municipalities. They are backed by the credit of RBC. They were purchased by mutual funds for their tax-exempt bond portfolios.
