We target underperforming, producing assets which have not been given the proper attention from their owners, but retain meaningful development potential. Initial investment sizes range up to $30 million. We deploy follow-on capital ranging up to $20 million to optimize and develop the asset before exit. We can acquire and develop larger assets if the opportunity is consistent with our overall investment strategy.

Blue Tip Energy acquires direct interests in onshore oil and natural gas assets in the United States. We target strategically small underperforming, producing assets which possess meaningful development potential, but have not been given the proper attention from their owners, and therefore have stranded value. Many such assets exist and are traded in volume annually, typically in inefficient capital markets with limited competition. As with any investment strategy understanding and managing risk is critical to our success. Blue Tip Energy’s in-house operating expertise allows us to quickly develop a deep understanding of the risk/reward profile of potential new investments at the reserve and operating levels rather than solely at the financial and transaction levels. Additionally, we operate each portfolio asset in-house whenever possible, allowing our operating team to bring considerable experience and skill to optimizing current production, quantify upside, determine the scope and pace of development, and the timing of exit.
