HISTORY

Bowden Oil Company is a family owned and operated business that began in 1955 in Talladega, Alabama. In the beginning, Bowden Oil Company operated exclusively in Talladega County located in Central Alabama. Through several acquisitions, Bowden Oil Company has grown to make services available to most of Central Alabama.

Bowden Oil Company moved its home office to Sylacauga, Alabama, in 1971 and incorporated in 1978. In 1982, a new division of Bowden Oil Company was established and named Shop “N” Fill Food Marts. The first Shop "N" Fill Food Mart convenience store was opened in the spring of 1982. Since then, Shop "N" Fill has grown to consist of 17 company operated locations.

Bowden Oil Company also has a "private" branded subsidiary known as WESCO that supplies non-branded retail locations with petroleum products and services. Bowden Oil Company also provides independent service station facilities with petroleum products.

Bowden Oil Company is a full-service company supplying wholesale and retail customers, industrial accounts, contractors, and farms with Chevron/Texaco branded fuels and automotive lubricants.
