About Company

Cermet Materials, Inc. is a high technology electronic materials development and manufacturing company with headquarters in Delaware, U.S.A. We started our business in 1985 to develop, manufacture and sell electronic powders and pastes to the passive electronic components industry. Cermet has grown to become a major supplier of these materials serving customers throughout the world with sales and applications support in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.

Cermet has introduced screen printable conductive pastes for the photovoltaic (PV) industry. The years of technical know-how in thick film manufacturing and excellent customer service enabled Cermet to swiftly introduce PV pastes into the market. Our PV product line consists of Aluminum, Silver/Aluminum, and Silver thick film pastes for Cz and multi-crystalline silicon applications.

Cermet Materials, Inc. is a high technology electronic materials development and manufacturing company with headquarters in Delaware, U.S.A. We started our business in 1985 to develop, manufacture and sell electronic powders and pastes to the passive electronic components industry. Since its inception, Cermet has grown to become a major supplier of these materials serving customers throughout the world with sales and applications support in the U.S., Asia and Europe.

To achieve its leadership position, Cermet has followed simple rules:

  • We hire only the most highly qualified people. This practice has led to the innovative products described in this catalog and to our excellent reputation for technical service and applications support.
  • Our Production people are considered to be the backbone of Cermet and are extremely proud of the quality of their work, their record for on-time delivery, their consistent high quality and their committment to continuous improvement.
  • Our goal is to stay focused. Our business is to supply the electronics industry with conductive materials.
  • Finally, our goal at Cermet - whether in technology, technical service, manufacturing consistency or on-time delivery - is very simple: we want to be recognized as the best!

Because of the wide variety of manufacturing practices used in the electronics industry, no one material works best in all applications. Cermet will work closely and confidentially with its customers to provide the best combination of performance and economy for each application.

Cermet Materials, Inc., was founded in 1985 to manufacture powders and thick film pastes for the multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) and hybrid circuit industries. Recently, Cermet has introduced screen printable conductive pastes for the photovoltaic (PV) industry. Below is a brief description of our product line:

ALUMINUM PASTES

Solus 6200 series are screen printable Aluminum pastes for rear side metallization. There are fritless, non-leaded and leaded versions of the Solus 6200 series that are aimed to achieve minimal lay down and also to produce a uniform and smooth print after firing. The Solus 6200 series pastes, when printed and fired above the eutectic temperature of Si/Al, yield a uniformly doped p+ layer without any residual dust. There are also versions of the Solus 6200 series that are used for rear side passivation applications for both fire-through and non-fire through dielectric layers. Individual products are summarized below with links to their data sheets

6214 – Fritted, lead free aluminum paste
6220 – Fritted, lead free, aluminum paste designed for low bow requirements paste
6241 – Fritted aluminum paste for fire through applications paste

BACK CONTACT PASTES

Solus 6300 series are screen printable silver/aluminum or silver pastes designed for back contact metallization. The Solus 6300 series pastes are designed with the optimum material composition that reduces the back surface recombination velocity without reducing the adhesion strength of tabbing material. Cermet’s Solus 6300 series pastes are lead-free and Cadmium-free with a high pull strength and ease of soldering. Because of high silver prices, Cermet has recently introduced Silver and Silver/Aluminum pastes with Silver contents as low as 50%. Individual products are summarized below with links to their data sheets:

6318-55, 50, and 45 – 100%Ag Pastes for polycrystalline cells
6319-75, 70, 65 and 60 – Ag/Al Pastes for monocrystalline cells

FRONT CONTACT PASTES

Solus 6400 series aseries are versatile screen-printable Ag pastes for firing through a Si3N4 or TiO2 anti-reflective coating. The Solus 6400 series pastes are suitable for emitter sheet resistivities of 70 Ω/â–¡ without the deleterious effects of parasitic resistive losses. For each of the bands of emitter sheet resistivities, we recommend applicable cell temperatures for optimum cell performance. The fired gridline has an average height of >20mm while maintaining fired line widths of <75um. Typical products are summarized below with links to their data sheets:

6454 - 100% Ag paste for sheet rhos up to 70 ohms/sq.

Special products are also available for seed layer applications. Individual products include the following:

6600 PSP - Platable, screen printable
6700 - Platable, aerosol deposition
