About Company

Clarke Willmott LLP is a national law firm with 500 lawyers and support staff (including over 85 partners) working from offices in Birmingham, Bristol, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton. The firm was established in the South West in 1888 and we are proud of our strong heritage.

Recognising that our clients prefer working with lawyers who understand the climate in which they operate and how their business actually works day-to-day, we decided a number of years ago, to adopt a sector-led approach. The success of such a strategy can be evidenced by our reputation in a number of key industry areas. These include our 100-strong Real Estate and Construction group, nationally-renowned 40-strong Social Housing group, and specialist Retail group – as well as leading teams advising on Renewable Energy, Agriculture, Sport and Private Client.

Understanding the importance of providing commercial advice, in 2012 we launched the Clarke Willmott School of Management, designed to develop the business skills of our lawyers. We have Investors in People accreditation in recognition of our training and development programmes and, as a signatory to The Law Society’s Diversity and Inclusion Charter, are firmly committed to a framework for positive action across all strands of diversity.

We are focussed on client service - we invest time in developing strong relationships with our clients in order to add value and achieve positive results. We have been awarded The Law Society's Lexcel quality mark in recognition of our compliance and client care standards.

Working closely with the local communities in which we operate is important to Clarke Willmott LLP. Our active Corporate Social Responsibility policy encourages our staff to give something back through volunteering, fundraising and pro-bono work. As a member of the Legal Sector Alliance, we are also strongly committed to reducing our carbon footprint through investing in greener ways to do business.

Clarke Willmott LLP is a national law firm with six offices across the country, from which we provide a broad spectrum of legal services for businesses and individuals.

We are client-led; a strategic resolve which has resulted in our earning a strong reputation in sectors such as real estate and construction, retail, sport, social housing, agriculture, renewable energy and private client.

Working closely with our clients to provide tailored solutions for their particular situation is paramount at Clarke Willmott. We invest time and energy into developing strong client relationships in order to add real value and achieve positive results.

We work with an extensive client base of private sector businesses, sole traders, public sector bodies and charitable organisations, which we advise on almost every aspect of the law. Our commercially-focused lawyers recognise that advice should not only be legally watertight, but should also support their clients’ corporate objectives. We are a client-facing firm, recognised for providing a high level of service and for offering innovative fee solutions to help our clients to keep in control of their budget.
