Cress Gas Co. is a family owned and operated business. Servicing customers since 1939, the gas department began as an addition to a small radio store. However, it quickly grew during the 1940s and 1950s and by 1963, Cress Gas Co. discontinued sales of non-propane related items and concentrated on bulk delivery of propane. These changes streamlined operations, making Cress Gas Co. more efficient and capable of supplying propane and service equipment to a larger customer population.  With both the addition of computers in 1980 and the acquisition of another company, we continued to expand.  Finally, in the 1990s Cress Gas Co. quadrupled propane storage by adding eight 30,000-gallon storage tanks.  This investment allowed us to provide customers with a continuous supply of propane during temporary supply shortages.    Today, Cress Gas Co. is still owned and operated by the founding family.  We currently maintain ten service/installation vehicles and twelve bulk delivery trucks.  Propane service is provided for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial applications in Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh, and Northampton counties.  Our technicians are certified by the National Propane Gas Association and install propane systems, above- and underground tanks, and provide 24-hour emergency service.  Budget payment plans, gas appliances, and equipment are also available.    Cress Gas Co. is an active member of both the National Propane Gas Association and the Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association.

Tank Information

Propane tanks are manufactured in a variety of sizes to accommodate many types of usages. The volume of usage determines the size of the tank. For example, 100 lb tanks are used for low volumes usages, such as cooking and clothes drying. A 1000 gallon tank is used for high volume usages, such as large all-gas homes with appliances for home heating, water heating, cooking, and/or gas fireplace(s). Cress Gas Co. can determine what size tank a customer needs by learning the type of appliances that use propane.
