We have a long history of dedication to small scale hydro, demonstrated both by our operational record and our involvement with the British Hydropower Association, sitting on its Council for over 14 years and then on its board from inception to present.

Here at Derwent Hydro we have a combination of track record, expertise and experience that we think is hard to beat in small hydropower. Very few in the industry have been in the business since the 1980s as we have. From that time on we have maintained our enthusiasm for delivering practical solutions for hydropower sites in order to see this great renewable resource used to its full potential, whilst widening our expertise and areas of work.

Good hydro development is a complex task because no two sites are the same and because each site has many issues to consider - including providing a reliable solution, safeguarding the local environment, protecting fish, maximising power and income and keeping costs low enough for implementation to be viable. We have the experience and understanding necessary to look at all the factors together and produce the best possible solutions.
