Storage Facility 

Discount Oil is an established fuel supplier that understands the oil business. We ensure a dependable supply of Oilheat and diesel for all our customers with our two storage facilities. In the event of severe weather, we will always have the fuel we need to keep you supplied.  Dependable supply is the fuel dealers first obligation, but reliability is nothing to take for granted. It is a little-known fact that many oil dealers do not maintain independent storage and instead send their trucks to a wholesalers terminal every time they run out. In the event of a severe weather event or calamity, they might not be able to meet their customers fuel needs.

Oilheat

  Discount Truck Back Established in 1976, Discount Oil is an experienced, knowledgeable provider of Oilheat. We understand the oil business and what it takes to supply fuel reliably at competitive prices. Unlike many dealers, we have our own fuel storage facility, which enables us to have supply at all times - even in the middle of a severe winter storm.

Bioheat

 Discount Oil will soon begin delivering Bioheat to all Oilheat customers. This new fuel blends traditional Oilheat with renewable biofuel that can be made from a diverse range of renewable feedstocks, including soybeans and other natural products.  Bioheat burns cleaner than traditional Oilheat and extends the fuel supply by drawing on new fuel sources. Researchers are working to refine fuel from additional non-food sources such as algae and forest waste.  The biofuel used in Bioheat is made to an exacting specification developed by ASTM International (formerly the American Society for Testing and Materials). ASTM has approved Bioheat for use in all Oilheat appliances, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has mandated its use, effective in July 2010.  Testing conducted by the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) found that biofuels, such as Bioheat, reduce sulfur oxide, nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide significantly. Officials at the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimate that if everyone in the Northeast with an oil furnace used a B5 (5% biodiesel/95% heating oil) blend, 50 million gallons of regular heating oil could be conserved annually.

Installations & Upgrades

Todays heating systems typically reduce energy consumption by about 30 percent. When you upgrade, you burn a lot less fuel, so you not only save money, you reduce your emissions and contribute to a reduction in demand for foreign oil and gas.  Discount Oil specializes in installation of high-efficiency heating equipment. We have an excellent selection of boilers and furnaces from the worlds top manufacturers, and our installation work is exceptional. Unlike many installers, we adhere to manufactures specifications, so that your new system delivers optimal performance and efficiency.

Radiant Heating 

Radiant heating provides exceptional comfort and energy efficiency. Unlike traditional heating, which relies on small heat transmitters using high temperature heat, radiant heat uses large emitters and lower temperatures. The most popular use of radiant is in floors. Heating elements in the floor (usually small pipes carrying heated water) turn the floor itself into a heating element that warms anything that contacts it, as well as the room itself. Radiant heat can also be delivered through walls, floors and specially designed radiators.  With todays advanced pumps and mixing valves, it is possible to warm some rooms with radiant and others with traditional baseboards - off the same boiler.  Radiant installations are complex and should be performed only by experienced contractors. Discount Oil has extensive experience in radiant heat, with dozens of successful installations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Retrofits 

If your home has no air conditioning or you are relying on window air conditioners, you can improve your comfort and aesthetics with a new central air conditioning system, even if your home has no ductwork. Discount Oil installs mini-split systems that distribute cool air through wall units with no ductwork. In a mini-split system, the compressor is located outdoors, connected by a conduit housing tubing and power cable to one or more indoor handling units.  Mini-splits are less disruptive to install than traditional systems, because the conduit generally requires only a 3-inch hole in the wall. They can be installed with a thermostat for each indoor unit, enabling you to save energy by cooling only the rooms you are using. Mini-splits also have none of the energy loss that can occur as conditioned air travels through large ducts.
