About Company

EnerFuel is a leader in high temperature PEM (HT-PEM) fuel cells with innovative engineering and customer-oriented design. We offer back-up and self-generation power systems. We also provide our fuel cell stacks as a platform for developing custom products for our customers.  Contact us to learn more about how we can help you achieve your goals.

We use our deep knowledge and experience in fuel cell technologies to develop innovative power-generation products and systems that:

  • Improve grid stability
  • Conserve natural resources
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Enable renewable energy
  • Close the gap between electricity generation and demand by empowering individual action

Solutions

EnerFuel provides its customers with advanced fuel cell power solutions focused on stationary power for telecom and distributed power sectors, fuel cell power modules for OEMs and system integrators, and custom product development with OEMs and manufacturers.  In all these solutions, EnerFuel leverages its expertise in high temperature PEM (HT-PEM) fuel cells, system integration, and electronics to provide customers with system with unparalleled performance, capabilities and flexibility. For example, EnerFuel power solutions are able to operate with fuels other than hydrogen (natural gas, propane, LPG, methanol, bio-diesel, etc.) reducing implementation costs and dropping market entry risks.

Fuel Cell Power Systems

EnerFuel is establishing strategic partnerships with OEMs, system integrators and research institutions to develop products that leverage the benefits of HT-PEM fuel cells.

The following features enable plug-and-play integration with your system:

  • Advanced HT-PEM fuel cell stack designed for integration into 1kW and 3kW net reformer based systems (1.3kW and 4.5kW gross with hydrogen)
  • Liquid cooled system with integrated controls maintains stack temperature spread below 10°C
  • Data acquisition system with cell voltage and temperature monitoring. USB interconnection and companion software allows for data transfer to your system controller
  • Internal contactor and cell monitoring prevents operation outside safe levels
  • Heat recovery at 140°C to 150°C enables steam generation and high efficiency systems

High temperature operation provides important advantages, including:

  • Cathode produces steam not liquid water. This reduces flow field design and enables low pressure stack operation.
  • Low susceptibility to CO and other fuel impurities. This enables the use of conventional fuels or lower purity hydrogen.
  • Capacity to operate in hot environments. All fuel cells generate heat as a by-product of electricity production. In order not to overheat the system, this heat has to be transferred to the environment. High temperature operation reduces the size of the heat exchanger required to transfer heat.
  • The heat produced is useful. High temperature heat can be used to condition or support high quality processes such as space-heating, water-heating, steam generation, or refrigeration cycles
