Energy Transfer began in 1984 as Machine Dynamics & Engineering, Inc.  The founder Ken Barkan Sr. was passionate about continuing a legacy in Finned Tubing that started with his father Louis Barkan. Learning the craft of making hectically wound Fin Tube from Louis, Ken recognized a need in the industry for high performance enhanced surface tubing.   He turned his family craft into a business in Carrollton, Ohio.  Ken progressively grew the business until it was able to buy out his then competitor Energy Transfer, Inc. in 2003.  Ken Sr. served the company with his entrepreneur spirit until his retirement in 2008.    

Taking on the more market related name of Energy Transfer the business then took on the third generation of tube fabrication professionals Kenny and Paul Barkan.  The two brothers brought in a new passion to serve the customers and grow the business.  Kenny, President, brings an Engineering background as Paul, Vice-President, brought a Sales prowess.  The next step was to focus on building a team to develop and build the business into a lasting staple in the heat exchanger industry.  In 2010 the precision CNC machine shop portion of Energy Transfer was separated into the machining division called Machine Dynamics.     The corporate headquarter for Energy Transfer were moved in 2012 to a 245,000 square foot major manufacturing campus in Minerva, Ohio.  The new added manufacturing space allowed Energy Transfer to add to their product offers and streamline manufacturing.  This combined with the hard work and dedication of every team member of Energy Transfer, we have grown to offer the best arrangement of Enhanced Surface Tubing and Fabrications in the industry.
