The Fair Companies consist of Fair Propane Gas Systems, Inc., Fair Oil Company, and Fair Properties, LP. The Propane and Oil businesses are both 3rd generation companies that were started in the 1940s by John S Fair. John S. Fair, Jr. came into the business in 1975 after serving six years in the Armed Forces. In 1999, John S. Fair III (Johnny) joined his father in the family business. Over the years, John and more recently Johnny have expanded the business and positioned The Fair Companies as a market leader in the gasoline and propane industries.  Fair Properties is a company whose assets consist of the real estate owned by the Fair Family. The majority of these properties are locations occupied by Fair Propane, Fair Oil, or Fair Oils convenient stores. Fair Properties also includes commercial buildings, office rental space, investment property, and timber land.

John S. Fair

Jr. John S. Fair Jr. John is a native of Louisville, MS, graduating from Louisville High School in 1965. He served in the US Navy for six years from 1966-1972. Upon completion of his military service, he attended Mississippi State University and received a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1975. He married Bonnie Bennett of Oxford, MS and they have four children, Laura, Johnny, Emily, and Caroline. John is a devote Christian and has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Louisville since 1960. He is an ordained Deacon and Ruling Elder of the Presbyterian Church in America. John currently serves as President of The Fair Companies. (Distributor of L. P. Gas, Gasoline, and Diesel Fuel & Developer of Real Estate Properties for the gasoline business)  John is an active civic leader in his community serving on the Board of Directors of the Louisville/Winston County Chamber of Commerce from 1977-1983 where in 1983 he was elected President. He has also served on the school board of Winston Academy, the Community Bank Board of Directors of Renansant Bank, and the Board of Directors of Louisville Country Club. In 2005 he was elected to the Executive Committee of the MS Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association and will serve as President in 2008.  He is also a 30 year member of the Rotary Club of Louisville, MS serving as President in 1982-1983. In 2004-2005 he was elected as an officer of Rotary International and served as District Governor of Rotary District 6820 during Rotarys Centennial Year of service. He is the fourth member of his family to serve as a District Governor of Rotary International following his grandfather, uncle, and second cousin.  He is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu national honor societies. He was selected as Louisville/Winston County Man of the Year in 1984 and as the Rotary Club of Louisvilles Rotarian of the Year in 1984. He and his wife Bonnie are Paul Harris Fellows and Rotary Benefactors.  John continues to be active in the family business started in 1942 by his father, John S. Fair. His hobbies are hunting, fishing, and golf.

John S. Fair (Johnny)

John S. Fair Jr. Johnny was born in Louisville, MS in 1976.  He went to Winston Academy and graduated as WAs Valedictorian.  He then went on to Mississippi State University and was a member of the MSU Baseball Team.  Johnny finished in 1999 graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Microbiology.  While at MSU, he served as Vice President of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Johnny was also named to Whos Who among American College Students.  Other college organizations included Phi Kappa Phi, Lambda Sigma, and Reformed University Fellowship. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Starkville, MS.  His community activities include being a board member on the Main Street Association of Louisville and chairman of the Promotions Board. He is also a member of the Louisville Rotary Club and sits on the Renasant Bank community board of Starkville. Johnny served as President of the Mississippi Propane Gas Association in 2008.  He also served as President of the Mississippi Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association in 2014.  He served on the Board of Pure Marketers Cooperative from 2008-2014.  The Mississippi Business Journal named him Top 40 Under 40 business leaders in MS in 2008.  Johnny is married to the former Maggie Martin of Brandon, MS and they have three daughters.  His hobbies include golf, tennis, hunting, and salt water fishing.

Fair Propane has been serving residential and commercial customers in central Mississippi since 1942. We service over 20 counties thru 4 propane offices located in Louisville, Ackerman, Kosciusko, and Columbus.  We have trucks, drivers, and bulk plants located throughout our service area.  We offer competitive prices, route delivery, and certified service technicians.  We also carry a full line of heaters, logs, grills, lights, water heaters, and other gas appliances and accessories.  Our customers can choose from a number of pricing options including prepaid, fixed, and budget pay programs.  Our certified service technicians are trained in piping, tank setup, appliance installation and repair, and most importantly, safety.  We offer a free tank set-up to all new customers, and rental tanks are available.  Call us to handle all of your propane needs.
