Fencl Oil & L.P. Co., Inc. is your locally owned supplier of propane and refined fuels in NE Iowa. We have a fleet of four propane bobtail delivery trucks to meet your propane heating needs. We supply propane for many needs including residential, commercial, agricultural, motor vehicle, and recreational. We also have one refined fuel truck to meet your diesel and gasoline needs. Our experienced staff has many years experience in the propane & refined fuel industry. We install and service propane gas systems for residential, agricultural, and commercial purposes. We also sell and rent propane and refined fuel tanks along with the sale and installation of name brand heating equipment such as Empire, L.B. White, Rheem, ADP, Bradford White, as well as the servicing of many other brands. Our top priorities are safety and service.

Company History

Fencl Oil Company was started in 1951 by Joe W. & Helen Fencl as a refined fuels business. In 1964 we expanded to include the sale of propane. In 1991 Ken & Gail Fencl bought and are still currently operating the business.  The main bulk plant is located just north of Protivin, Iowa along county road V-58. In 1992 we added a satellite bulk propane plant east of Cresco,Iowa along the Pole Line Road. Then in 1997, another satellite propane bulk plant was added between Calmar and Decorah, Iowa along Highway 52.​

Propane - A Green Fuel! 

 According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), propane produces considerably less carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions than more traditional fuels. 

Delivery Options

• Auto Fill - Dont want to worry about watching your propane tank during the cold winter months? Then Auto Fill is for you. Our computerized routing system will use your past history to predict future deliveries and we will stop in automatically.

• Will Call - Will call is for customers who prefer to call in when they want propane delivered. If you prefer to be on will call, please call on or before the time your tank reaches 25% (as shown by the gauge below) to ensure delivery before your tank runs empty.

Gas & Diesel 

 We carry a line of refined fuel products including dyed diesel, kerosene, gasoline, clear highway diesel, E85, and also fuel oil for home heating.  We treat our dyed and clear bio diesel with additives that make it a premium diesel. In the summer months we treat our diesel with Power Max Plus and in the winter months we treat it with Cloud Buster. 

Tire Shop

Our tire repair and service shop is the perfect place to come for oil changes, new tires, tire repair, tire rotation, and mechanical work.  We offer virtually any brand of tire for your semi truck, medium duty truck, passenger truck, passenger car, SUV, trailer, tractor, wagon, lawn mower, or anything else that you need tires for.
