Welcome to Future Water LTD
Future Water operates nationally from offices based in Belper, Derbyshire. We aim to ensure that our clients water systems are maintained to the standards set out in the document HSC ACoP L8 Legionnaires' Disease The control of legionella bacteria in water systems which was published on 8th January 2001.
Future Water Approach
Our philosophy is not to sell you, the client, large quantities of high margin water treatment chemicals nor would it be to clean and chlorinate your system three times a year due to a lack of knowledge regarding the problem in hand. This approach might lead to short term gain and profit, but it does not provide the basis for a long term relationship.
At Future Water we take a refreshingly different approach by offering more cost effective, proven, alternative methods of water treatment. We are also able to provide energy and therefore money saving advice/equipment.
By taking this approach we could help you, the client, stop spending money unnecessarily on some aspects of water treatment.
Future Water Services
We offer a wide range of services:
Water Hygiene
The legislation controlling the prevention of Legionnaires Disease , (HSC ACo P L8) covers any business premises, or work activity, where water is used or stored .
L8 states that a foreseeable risk of exposure to legionella bacteria exist in systems containing:
• a cooling tower
• evaporative condenser
• any system likely to exceed 20°C and which may release a spray,
• hot and cold water systems
Future water provides advice, consultancy, training, surveying and sampling services on all aspects of water hygiene and water treatment. Our range of Electro Chlorination systems can also ensure a greater degree of control and prevention than temperature alone.
The immediate benefits for consideration are that the biocide is generated on site using salt, which precludes the requirement for attenuated COSHH and the health implications of using aggressive chemicals such as industrially manufactured Sodium Hypochlorite.
The system is capable of dosing domestic water systems serving showers, wash hand basins and associated services.
Capital expenditure on equipment may be offset against energy savings;
Domestic stored hot water may be reduced to 43 o C rather than heating to 60 o C and distributing at 50 o C. This yields a net saving in energy expenditure and consequently decreased carbon consumption and therefore cost savings.
Cooling Towers
Cooling towers and evaporative condensers which are poorly controlled and maintained have been implicated in several outbreaks of legionnaire's disease. Despite this a well maintained system offers a viable alternative to dry adiabatic cooling systems and treated correctly are both safe and efficient. In order to achieve this Future water are dedicated to applying our expertise in caring for your critical plant and equipment.
Future water offers a full range of services to maintain a safe water environment, and to offer our customers peace of mind. Our engineers and hygiene technicians are fully trained and experienced and can take care of your servicing and testing requirements.
We offer a range of treatment programmes to prevent the growth of Legionella. In terms of energy efficiency and sustainability we aim to reduce costs to your operation. Build up of scale on critical systems not only creates a risk in terms of legionella but a reduction in the heat transfer efficiency of equipment.
A chiller coated with a 3mm layer of scale results in a loss of over 10% in fuel efficiency. Future water is committed to conserving carbon consumption and at the same time saving money for our customers.
Steam Boilers
Future water provides a full range of services for steam boilers and generators.
Boiler water is treated in order to optimise system performance, and heat exchange efficiency. Future water provides solutions that comply with the BS2486 recommendations for the treatment of water for steam boilers and water heaters. The main factors affecting the efficiency of steam plants are scale, corrosion, fouling and foaming. Scale can lead to energy inefficiency and therefore wasted money to the customer. Put simply, scale acts as an insulator. In terms of scale, a 6mm layer coating inside equates to almost 10% of wasted fuel in a steam boiler!
In order to conserve carbon expenditure and meet efficiency targets, Future water are committed to providing our customers with effective boiler treatment programmes designed to embrace maximum efficiency, cost effectiveness and energy sustainability.
We design and supply effective chemical treatment programmes optimising internal boiler water chemistry saving you the customer time and money.
Water softeners and Reverse Osmosis (R.O.)
Future water can supply and service a range of pre treatment plant and can be viewed as an integral part of your energy management strategy.
A correctly sized and well maintained treatment system can prevent scaling within boilers and cooling towers saving time in lost production and money in terms of energy efficiency.
These include Base Exchange water softeners and Reverse Osmosis R.O (pre-treatment plants). We will be happy to service and repair your existing plant.
Water storage systems
Future water can survey your existing water storage requirements and advise upon systems to meet your demands.
• We offer a full range of replacement tanks
• Refurbishment and upgrade to meet
HSC L8 requirements
• Tank relining service
