GeoSeq® International, LLC was founded in early-2007 by Veronica Brieno Rankin after discovering a service gap in the energy sector. She now provides high-quality, specialized consulting services to a wide portfolio of clients in order to reduce their energy consumption-related environmental impacts.
Veronica Brieno Rankin is a honorably-discharged Veteran and seasoned environmental professional specializing in energy, environment, climate, and offshore operations. With degrees in both Earth Science and Law, Veronica has provided technical leadership in the evaluation of emerging energy technologies used in natural resource development, the energy/water nexus, national and international comparative law and policy, subsurface and groundwater geology, and fate and transport of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Veronica serves on the UNFCCC Roster of Experts on behalf of the United States. She is an Associate Editor for Oil, Gas, and Energy Law Intelligence (OGEL). Veronica has contributed as an Invited Expert Reviewer to four IPCC reports leading up to the organization's 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Co-Laureate Award and has been invited in 2012 to Expert Review the IPCC Working Group III Fifth Assessment Report.
As a prior Commissioned Officer of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Corps, Veronica possesses unique offshore experience working underway in the Gulf of Mexico. Possessing both a U.S. Merchant Mariner's Credential and Transportation Worker Identification Credential, Veronica is eligible to work aboard U.S. merchant vessels greater than 100 Gross Register Tons that may require unescorted access to secure areas of port facilities, outer continental shelf facilities, and vessels regulated under the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA).
Veronica serves as the Marine Safety and Environmental Protection Officer and Public Affairs Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in the District 8 Coastal Region (8CR)
