Griner Drilling Service, Inc.'s early beginnings in the drilling industry where admittedly inadvertent. In the early 1940's, company founder Dean Griner was drafted to serve in the Army during World War II, but due to a medical condition was denied entry on multiple occasions.  After being medically disqualified, he started his own plumbing business.  During the course of business, a contractor incurred a large debt, which he was unable to repay.  To satisfy the debt, the contractor gave Mr. Dean a drilling rig and the early beginnings of the company we know today was formed...Dean Griner Water Well Drilling.  Over the next several years Mr. Dean began to build the business with the help of his sons, Charles H. "Hubby" Griner, Sr. and Mernice Griner, shifting focus away from plumbing and toward the drilling of residential water wells and water supply wells for the oil industry.  In 1966, joint ownership of the business was acquired by Hubby and Mernice Griner.  They renamed the company to its current name, Griner Drilling Service, Inc.  Over the next four decades the business evolved from a small local well drilling company to become a regional leader in commercial water well drilling, service, repair, and maintenance.  In 2005, Hubby Griner gained full ownership of the company.  Currently the company spans three generations with Charles H. "Chip" Griner, Jr. serving as the company CEO and shareholder. Today, Griner Drilling Service, Inc. is your full service water well contractor.  Our extensive knowledge, expertise, and highly trained personnel has allowed us to become an industry leader in the Gulf South Region with four locations servicing Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and the panhandle of Florida.  We are committed to providing quality service to customers while ensuring they receive honest, reliable, and cost effective solutions that best meet their needs.
