Since 1997 Hall & Smith Energy has been keeping families and businesses warm in Somerset County. We pride ourselves in combining the newest technology with doing business the personal, old fashioned way!  We offer delivery of #2 heating oil, kerosene, propane, diesel, gasoline and coal within a 30 mile radius of Jackman. In addition, we offer sales for both residential and commercial energy efficient heating and hot water systems. Our service department is staffed with licensed, experienced technicians to keep your heating and hot water systems running smoothly and efficiently.

Our History

Hall and Smith Energy has always been a family owned company. Originally started as Smith Oil Company in 1956, run as a Gulf oil distributor, by Vincent H. Smith in Jackman, Maine. The company was passed on to Vincents son, John S. Smith in 1972 until 1986 when, Scott V. Smith purchased the business. Smith Oil Company partnered with R.H. Foster in 1997 and purchased L.F. Hall Distributors to create Hall and Smith Energy. In 2011 Scott V. Smith, grandson of Vincent regained 100% ownership of Hall and Smith Energy and is currently a Gulf oil dealer.  When Vincent started the company he took pride in treating every customer like part of the family. It is our intention to continue servicing people with that same personal touch.

Furnace Cleaning and Tune-ups

For maximum efficiency, and cost effective operation, your heating system should be cleaned at least once a year. We can service residential and commercial oil, propane and coal heating systems from any manufacturer. We also provide emergency service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

New Heating Systems & Upgrades

If you are building a new home or commercial building, our heating technicians can evaluate your heating requirements and design a heating and hot water system solution that best fits your needs and budget. We sell and install a wide range of highly efficient oil, propane and coal heating systems from the top manufacturers. If youre current system is old and inefficient we can recommend, and install, an efficient replacement system that can provide you with significant heating cost savings. Many solutions can have a payback period of under five years. In addition to central heating systems we also sell, install and service propane and mini-split air conditioners and heat pumps.

Fuel Delivery

We offer regular delivery of heating oil and propane to residential, commercial and seasonal locations within a 30 mile radius of Jackman.
