Monte Lynn Hay, P.G. President

Monte began his oil and gas career at a young age trailing along with his father and grandfather on the drilling rig. His vast working knowledge of oil and gas drilling and production correlated with his desire to learn more about the Earth when he became a registered Petroleum Geologist by gaining his education at the University of Kentucky. Monte is the fourth generation of oil and gas producers in his family lineage with his Great Grandfather beginning the drilling side. Monte has been accredited with pursuing the deep Cambrian sand play within the Rome Trough. With several discoveries in the Rome Trough play, Hay Exploration, Inc. has grown to be recognized throughout the entire industry with numerous publications involving the Rome Trough in the Appalachian Basin. Monte assumes all responsibilities within the company for choice of well locations, well completions, field activities, and project discovery.

Monica Hay Sturgill, M.B.A. Vice President of Operations

   Monica, like her father Monte, began her career at a very young age. Monte would often have Monica by his side while operating the production in the field and in the office. Monica went on to pursue an education in Economics at Marshall University graduating in 2008 Summa Cum Laude and obtaining the Economics award. Monica was awarded her M.B.A. in 2010 also from Marshall University. Monica has worked diligently to expand Hay Explorations positive impact on the community as well as maintain her families deep oil and gas legacy. Monicas primary duties within the company range from production analysis, human resources, project management, revenue distribution, and overall "wrangler" for all business activities.
