For more than thirty years, InterEnergy has powered people and cities across the Caribbean and Latin America. We have 1.2 GW of installed and available capacity, providing reliable, cost-effective and clean energy to the Dominican Republic, Panama, Jamaica, and Chile.  We are private power pioneers: wherever we invest, we play an important role in the economic and social development of countries, markets and communities.  Our wholly-owned subsidiary, CEPM, has contributed to the fast-growing tourism sector in the Dominican Republic, providing power to 60% of the country’s hotel rooms. We’ve served the Punta Cana and Bavaro resort areas for the past 27 years, propelling the region to become world-class holiday destinations.  We are the largest and most-efficient independent power generator in Jamaica, responsible for almost 40% of the country’s total base load capacity.  We have also played a prominent role in the development of renewable  power across the region. In 2011, we were the first wind operator in the Dominican Republic and in 2014 we built the largest wind farm in the Central American and Caribbean region. We’ve also made significant investments in solar power in Chile, Panama and the Dominican Republic.

A brighter, better and cleaner future

We’re committed to bringing efficient, clean and cost-effective energy to the region and, following the completion of a project to convert a 300MW diesel plant to cleaner-burning natural gas, over 60% of InterEnergy’s total generating capacity will come from low-carbon renewable and natural gas assets.  In addition, we have a longstanding track record of making successful investment in cutting edge new technologies – from advanced gas-fired generation equipment, to smart meters, mobile access and electric car charging stations – always focused on bringing the best service to our wholesale and retail clients.  We have built a successful, sustainable and growing business that gives us a strong platform from which to forge new partnerships, develop new facilities and expand our footprint across the region.
