K Road DG is a Distributed Generation and Smart Grid business and operations platform. This platform will develop, build, own and operate assets globally by acquiring or providing capital in conjunction with managed alliances to a select set of Energy Storage and Smart Grid operating companies.K Road DG’s first predecessor company was founded in 2002 as a vehicle to help recapitalize and restructure troubled US power companies following the power market crash of 2001, K Road affiliates oversaw the capital restructuring, rehabilitation and operation of nearly 3,000 MW of natural gas and oil fired generating capacity in the northeastern United States.In 2008 the company turned its sights exclusively to the renewable power sector and power infrastructure related to building a clean, sustainable energy future for the United States.In 2009 K Road Power was formed to develop own and operate utility scale PV solar projects. K Road Power developed nearly 2,000 MWs of solar installations in the United States of which over 380 MW are now in or nearing commercial operations. Most notably are the 350 MW K Road Moapa and the 32 MW K Road Modesto projects.By providing capital and strategic assistance to its alliance partners, K Road DG promotes intelligent and sustainable, storage, distributed generation and Smart Grid companies. K Road is managed by a seasoned team of professionals with over 100 years of combined leadership experience in the industry at major energy corporations including Sithe Energies, The AES Corporation, Goldman Sachs, and Intel Capital.Together, K Road principals have a 30 year history of successfully developing and safely operating over 20,000 MW of conventional and renewable power assets, creating safe and reliable electricity for millions of customers while protecting exceptional value for both shareholders and project stakeholders.The K Road management team developed more than 380 MW of photovoltaic solar projects including K Road Moapa and K Road Modesto.
