LAKO FOREST OY LTD is a private forest machinery company which develops, manufactures and markets the reliable and durable, legendary LAKO® harvesting heads. Through our international network of distributors and partners, Lako Forest offers customers a global service and product support network.

Today, most of Lako Forest production is exported. Our main market area is Central Europe with Germany being the largest export destination.  Our barking harvesting heads are mainly delivered to Spain and Portugal. Also Russia and the Baltics as well as Ireland and nowadays the whole UK, along with Asian countries, are gaining more importance as Lako Forest export destinations.

Products

Wide and versatile range of harvesting heads

Our range of harvesting heads covers the full range of requirements for mechanical tree harvesting; from the first thinning, to clear cutting of large trees. In addition, Lako Forest has special expertise in mechanical harvesting, including eucalyptus and acasia debarking.

Our technical solutions are the best in their field, both with regard to construction and component selection. The measurement and control instruments, using the latest technology and additional equipment, ensure the success of our customers in the forest machinery sector all over the world. The optional topping saw, available for our three larger models, is one demonstration of our versatility.

The superior efficiency of these products is based on a unique synchronous triple roller feed system which ensures feeding of the tree without slipping. A first-class hydraulic system and stepless control of the compression power means that the wood handling properties of LAKO heads are top class.

In our product development, we have considered the varying terrain conditions and also the wide range of base machines our customers are using. LAKO harvesting heads, on wheeled base machines, are suitable for difficult terrain conditions like slopes. On tracked machines, the harvesting heads are suitable for robust clear cutting. By changing the feed rollers, LAKO harvesting heads can also be used for debarking eucalyptus wood.

All our models are based on almost 30 years of expertise in using harvesting heads for mechanical forest harvesting (ORIGINAL LAKO since 1979).

In addition, we can use our wide network of international contacts to help our customers to acquire base machines and other forest machinery, as well as spare parts and equipment for forest machinery (rotators, saw chains and bars, etc.).
