Prior to founding Laurel Mountain Energy, Clark Nicklas founded Vista Resources, Inc. in 1987. Over the past 28 years, Vista gained tremendous experience in drilling and operating over 1,000 natural gas and oil wells, primarily in the Appalachian Basin. As the energy industry transitioned to a greater focus on horizontal drilling and completions, Clark Nicklas and David Nicklas formed Laurel Mountain Energy in 2014 to develop this local horizontal shale potential.Based on this operating history in the Appalachian Basin, Laurel Mountain Energy’s key employees have years of experience working with landowners and communities safely and with a focus on environmental stewardship. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Laurel Mountain Energy’s team is comprised of local people dedicated to developing your oil and natural gas interests. Laurel Mountain Energy, LLC, is an independent upstream company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Laurel Mountain is focused on the acquisition and development of oil and gas properties across the Appalachian Basin, with a primary focus on the Marcellus, Upper Devonian and Utica formations in Western Pennsylvania.Laurel Mountain is led by Clark Nicklas (CEO) and David Nicklas (President), a father-son team that has worked closely together for eleven years at Vista Resources, a well-established, independent oil and gas company that was founded by Clark Nicklas in 1987. Over the past 28 years, Vista has managed numerous development programs and has drilled over 1,000 wells, primarily in the Appalachian Basin.  Additionally, Vista has been active and successful in assembling, developing and monetizing two distinct and sizable shale plays in the region.In addition to Clark and David, the management team includes Matt Weinreich (Vice President of Geoscience), Rod Stauffer (Vice President of Land), and Thomas Michael (Vice President of Exploration).With decades of combined experience in the Appalachian Basin, Laurel Mountain intends to build a quality asset portfolio with exposure to natural gas and liquids across multiple productive horizons.
