Established in the early 1940s as Chelsea Butane in Chelsea, OK, we were the local supplier of LP gas. Owned and operated by O.E. and Evah Whitenack, we moved in the late 1950s to Pryor and changed our name to Mayes County Propane.  ​  Whitenacks sons, Don and David Whitenack, joined the company and ran it through the 70s and acquired Miller Transports, Inc. in 1976. Davids son and son-in-law, Donnie Whitenack and Taylor McCuistion, joined the company in 1982 and 1983 respectively, and worked with David until he retired in 2008.  ​  Donnie and Taylor took over the company, and Taylor still runs it today with the same goal of quality service in mind. PRE-BUY PROGRAM

Rather than ride out the unavoidable pricing fluctuations in the winter, many customers prefer the certainty of enrolling in our Prebuy Program.  If prices go up during the winter season, you dont have to worry because your price has already been set at a lower price. However, if price drops, your price remains at the prebuy price  ​  This program not only allows you to save on your annual propane expense, it allows you to choose the payment option most convenient for you:

BUDGET BILLING PROGRAM

With the Budget Payment Plan, youll rest easy knowing that your propane bills wont be sky high in the winter. This propane service program allows you to even out your payments for propane over a specified period to offset high heating bills typically incurred during cold weather. 

AUTO-FILL PROGRAM

The last thing anyone wants during the cold winter is to realize at the end of the day that you have run out of propane. NOT a pleasant way to spend the night waiting to request a delivery truck. Considering your busy life, wouldnt it be helpful to know that our delivery drivers can automatically fill your tank as they are in your area on their normal route?  ​  With MCP Propanes Auto-Fill Program, our friendly delivery drivers will check your tank while they are on their regular route and fill when needed approximately once every month.     

TANK OPTIONS

Do you need a small propane tank to fuel a fireplace, range and hot water tank? Or maybe youre heating a large home with multiple fireplaces, furnaces, and have water heaters and a gas clothes dryer.  Whatever your requirements, MCP Propane can meet them.  ​  Let us help you determine which tank is right for you based on your homes square footage and anticipated uses.  We offer some tanks for lease and all tanks for purchase. Whether you buy or lease, we also provide delivery service for all customers.

  Infrared Wall Mount or Standing Heaters

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers has found infrared heaters can reduce the required heat needed to maintain a comfortable temperature in a building (heat load), by at least 15 percent.  These heaters can achieve these savings by providing focused warmth where it is needed most, which helps to reduce the need to warm the air in the entire space.   These propane heaters are especially good at keeping main living areas warm while letting other, lesser used rooms be at a lesser (cheaper) temperature.  They are also excellent at warming areas that are not well insulated such as shop buildings, garages, livestock barns and more.  ​  We are authorized to sell the entire line of Hearthrite propane vented and vent-free heaters. We have a variety of options of infrared and blue-flame heaters that will work with most any area size and budget.  Come in to either our Pryor or Wagoner locations or give us a call to discuss.  We do carry a small quantity of these on hand but can order anything you need within a few days.

With over 75 years in business, our team is highly experienced at providing both replacement parts and repair services for your propane tank related problems. We also regularly answer questions and provide advice for our customers as needed.  If you have a tank you believe is in need of repair, the pictures provided here will help you identify the part in question prior to calling and discussing with our tech team.  ​  We keep a stocked parts room to use with our own service calls as well as sell to consumers or to other repair technicians.  Consumers should read our note below regarding trying to do your own repairs.
