Since 1972, McKusick Petroleum has been helping Maine residents and businesses through cold winters. Owner and operator John McKusick has built a family of services including home heating oil, fuel oil, motor oil, propane, gasoline, and automotive service. Based in Dover-Foxcroft, McKusick also operates businesses in the surrounding area.

History

John McKusick started McKusick Petroleum in Dover-Foxcroft on October 1, 1972. With a single truck he delivered propane and sold gasoline and motor oil from his store. In 1982, McKusick began offering fuel oil, and the business grew from there.  In 1984, McKusick bought Harmons Texaco (now Harmons Heating Oil) in Milo, which offered gasoline, auto repair, heating oil, and LP Gas. In 1998, Johnsons Burner Service in Harmony joined the company, substantially increasing our service range.

Today

Today, Mckusick Petroleum has grown to forty full and part-time employees. We offer heating oil, propane delivery, burner repair and home heating equipment sales as well as offering gasoline, motor oil, and light auto repair at our service stations. We serve roughly 10,000 regular customers who have come to appreciate the friendly, local service we offer.

Service Agreements

When its cold outside, you can count on McKusick Petroleum to keep the heat on, and to get you back in the warmth when something goes wrong. Our Deluxe and Deluxe “PLUS” Service Agreements give you piece-of-mind on those cold winter nights.  We are excited to now offer Tanksure® oil tank insurance. We are including this beneficial program as part of our Deluxe Plus and Deluxe service agreements.
