More than ten years ago, three friends passionate about the environment connected over their shared enthusiasm for clean energy. Their connection evolved into a partnership that would eventually become Net Zero Solar.Chad Waits began installing solar in 2002, gaining his experience working with other industry—leading installers around Arizona. It was in one of those positions that he met Louis Woofenden. Louis was in the process of earning his engineering degree but already had a lifetime of experience with solar and wind power, having grown up off-grid and installed and serviced solar everywhere from his homestead in Washington state to projects in West Africa.With a long family history of entrepreneurship, Chad knew that Louis would be an outstanding asset when he fulfilled his mission of founding his own solar installation company. When Chad began that process in 2006, his longtime friend Trace Nuttall—already a successful Tucson business owner—jumped at the chance to express his own commitment to sustainability by teaming up with Chad to found Net Zero Solar. And as soon as he finished his master's degree, Louis was a welcome addition to the core ownership team, bringing his rich and diverse experience to every aspect of the businessThey joined forces with a commitment to bringing the best solar installations available to homes and businesses in greater Tucson. The rest is history.
