North Carolina Renewable Energy (NCRE) is an experienced and successful solar development company based in the southeast United States. We develop medium to large solar utility projects for a select number of key investors and EPC’s from around the world. NCRE develops anything from 2 to over 100 MW AC projects within North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee, and importantly, we do this in-house using a dedicated team of full-time staff. Having been successful in obtaining site control, grid interconnections, and zoning for a number of projects, we now have more than 2.3 GW of tangible projects in various stages of development. Our Partner Company

In 2016 PS Renewables invested in NCRE to assist in the expansion of both businesses. PS Renewables had already earned its reputation as a high quality developer and EPC for more than 10 years in Europe, with more than 400MW of projects delivered. Through the investment, NCRE gained a valuable customer for its projects as well as an invaluable partner in the development of its solar projects and growth strategy. The experience that PS Renewables brings in Engineering, Construction, and Procurement of solar farms makes sure that the projects developed by NCRE are of even higher quality and value.

The Development Team

NCRE’s development team operates across four states with over a two dozen team members. We pride ourselves on the size of our team and its ability to achieve fully developed solar sites at a steady rate without compromising our dedication to our customers. For over half a decade we have created more than 85 projects with a capacity of more than 2.3GW, a figure we are proud to say generates the equivalent of the annual average energy consumption of 200,000 family homes.

Our Solar Success

NCRE projects are valuable assets for our investors because they follow a predictable and proven development process, perfected over many years and across multiple states. Every project begins with the property owner and determination of capacity on the nearby High Voltage power lines. We then rapidly proceed to determine any ecological or natural obstacles and work closely with the local community and authority on an initial feasibility study.The Power Utility will tell us if we can achieve an economically attractive interconnection to the electricity grid. This can sometimes take a long time, and NCRE’s team of engineers will keep you informed about progress and (im)possibilities. Simultaneously, NCRE works with the local authority to gain permits for the construction achieving ‘Ready to Build’ status as early as possible. Once construction begins NCRE is closely involved to answer any questions from the property owner, the utility, or the local community. Soon the project will be operational, quietly generating clean electricity and revenue; the perfect neighbor!
