All told, the Northwind team collectively brings over 80 years of in-house experience in a wide range of renewable energy activities, including design, installation, assessment, project management, consulting, service, and training.  Northwind Solar offers full turn-key system design and installation all the way through system commissioning.  All of our work is done in-house by our NABCEP-certified designers, installers, and licensed electricians.  So you dont have to worry about seeking out subcontractors or unexpected expenses.  And we backup all of our work with an industry leading 10-year worksmanship warranty, ensuring your installation will be free of defects for the next decade!  In 2017, Northwind transitioned into a worker-owned cooperative. This business model strengthens Northwind by empowering its employees and allowing a democratic approach to how Northwind operates. We believe this model benefits not only its employees, but also its clients by ensuring that your solar installer is invested in your best interests.  We currently have 12 member-owners of our company which means your system will be designed and installed by owners of Northwind Solar. Solar + Storage

Solar + storage refers to residential, grid-tied solar electric systems that utilize energy storage in the form of a battery. Grid-tied solar electric systems with battery backups are essentially the same as straight grid-tied solar electric systems with one key advantage: during grid power outages, the battery bank continues to provide power to either specific electrical circuits or even your whole home. Customers that experience frequent outages or find that they cannot tolerate even short power outages find this system provides them the security of an uninterruptible power source.  Solar + storage can be integrated to maximize what we call "self-consumption" as well. This configuration is beneficial in utility territories dont provide net-metering and instantaneously devalue any solar energy sent to the grid.  Integrating a battery for self-consumption allows you to store energy from your solar before selling back at the devalued rate, thus maintaining your full energy value.
