Over the last 10 years, OceanBased Perpetual Energy has sought to harness ocean current energy to yield environmentally friendly, renewable, sustainable and commercially viable power. Our mission is to produce energy that operates perpetually, 24 hours a day.  OceanBased, with the support of our strategic partners, is a developer of Ocean Current Energy solutions that will ultimately be installed and connected to America’s power grid and other end users.  Through our research, we have identified sections of the powerful Florida Gulf Stream as the optimal zone to harness that energy.  Located in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 15 miles off the east coast of South Florida, this area contains the potential for clean power that we believe will be a disruptor and a game changer.  Now, we have established a presence in South Florida to launch what could be one of the largest renewable energy projects in the world.  OceanBased plans to develop the technology and manufacturing supply lines, and secure the necessary licensing and permitting to commercialize ocean current energy and change the course for renewable energy as baseload-capable clean power.

OCEAN CURRENT ENERGY ADVANTAGES

• Ocean current patterns have been identified around the world to have attractive velocity and directional characteristics that can be harnessed to make a significant contribution to energy production. The annual extractable ocean current energy in U.S. waters alone is estimated to be 1.8 trillion megawatt hours (mWh). OceanBased is focused on the Florida Gulf Stream, where research indicates 5-6 Gigawatts of extractable energy awaits.
• Flowing water is nearly 800 times denser than blowing wind, which makes it more efficient and attractive as an energy source. Ocean water is the fuel for ocean current energy, with no emissions to adversely affect the environment. The Florida Gulf Stream current flows north at 3 to 5 mph, 24 hours per day, and is relatively constant in velocity and direction throughout the year. The Gulf Stream has existed since Earth was formed and will be here as long as it remains, as both a climate influence and sustainable energy source.
