Recognised as one of UK’s most inspiring firms in a high-profile list from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), market leading Oil NRG was incorporated in 2007 and is now led by Chairman Roger Peart, ex-owner of third generation F Peart & Co., which the Peart family established in 1930 and sold in 2010.

Oil NRG is now the only independently run fuel supply and fuel distribution business with a presence in the whole of the east and north of England, from the Thames to the Tweed.

Most recently, Oil NRG acquired fuel supplier F C Dawes & Son Ltd, a family business since 1947 who have been providing fast, efficient and dependable oil deliveries for the last seven decades. Purchasing and incorporating Cranfield Oils in 1988 helped to reinforce their position as leading distributors of fuels across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

This came on the back of Oil NRG’s recent acquisition of fuel supplier Brobot Fuels, which was founded by John Bootle and family in 1978 with a single site in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, before furthering their expansion through acquisitions over the years to develop another fuel depot in Warwickshire.

The acquisition of F C Dawes and Brobot Fuels comes a year after the integration of Bedfordshire based Conquest Oil Company in October 2018; another third generation family business owned and run by the Craddock family since 1960 under the Texaco brand. With a fleet of 22 trucks, ‘Conquest Oil NRG’s continues to supply oil throughout, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Oil NRG’s first acquisition was in 2013 when Oil NRG took over Gateshead-based GB Fuels; a division of the family-run Goodall Bates & Todd Limited, a fuel business which had operated on Tyneside since the 1960s. The strong customer base in Tyneside and Northumberland, including a major presence in rural areas, is serviced by Oil NRG’s Birtley depot.

Subsequently in the spring of 2016 Oil NRG took over Yorkshire based East Riding Oil to further expand its service and offering south through Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire.

A depot in East Anglia soon followed, extending Oil NRG’s fuel distribution and market leading customer service through from Lincolnshire to Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.
