Petroleum Experts (Petex) started in business in 1990. All members of the team have been involved in the development of software engineering products, as well as having extensive experience in petroleum engineering. Engineering Workshops

The workshop can be considered as advanced course, where the clients engineers work on one of their field models with associated data to achieve an agreed set of engineering objectives.  A goal of the workshop is to allow the clients engineers to develop the skills and confidence to continue to develop, maintain and use the model when they are back in their own offices. Empowering the clients engineers we believe will ensure that the skills and knowledge gained are retained within the client organisation.  Petroleum Experts can propose a workshop in Edinburgh, UK. The workshop length will depend on technical objectives that require to be achieved and will be assessed by Petex once the data and goals have been reviewed.  Once the technical goals set by the client are agreed, Petex will request a list of data and models that we will review in preparation for the workshop. This preparation time will also allow the opportunity to discuss with the clients engineers any data issue that may arise, so that come the time of the workshop the focus can be on achieving the modelling goals.  The clients engineers would have one Petex petroleum engineer working with them for the full duration of the workshop. Moreover, other expertise would be available to assist with the workshop as required, e.g. PVT, reservoir, system optimisation specialists etc.  Petroleum Experts will provide for the clients engineers dedicated office/training facilities, computers and software licences to work with during the workshop.

Our technical support covers:

• Ensuring the software performs in accordance with current documentation;

• While the primary focus of Technical Support is to ensure the software is working as intended, the support team will try to help with the engineering aspects of the tools when the scope and context allow it.

• In fact, 90% of technical support enquiries handled relate to users seeking advice on how to approach, understand and model engineering problems. The remaining 10% of the enquires relate to the use of the engineering software itself.

• In cases where more context or time is required to formulate a solution, the support team can pass the information onto Petroleum Experts dedicated project team.

Product Development

The User Group Meeting has a primary objective of agreeing the development plan for each product in the suite.  User companies are invited to propose development and engineering enhancement. Petroleum Experts initiates significant original engineering research internally.  This proprietary work, much of which is only published within the clients community, has given additional models and solutions which are unmatched within the petroleum engineering industry.
