While Pneumatic Fracturing, Inc. (PFI) is no longer in business as many of you knew it, I have taken the experience and expertise that I have gained since 1995 and moved on to an innovative, cutting edge company, GeoSierra Environmental, Inc. My wealth of pneumatic fracturing knowledge will be coupled with GeoSierra’s extensive capabilities in the hydraulic fracturing arena. Merging our collective knowledge creates a one-stop shop for our national clients where the options that can be provided are not limited to any one approach. My new team offers outside the box thinking where the remedial solutions that can be implemented are endless so keep checking our website for new updates and learn about our extensive capabilities at www.geosierraenv.com.
And for those of you who are new to the technology or did not know PFI, my experience includes a wide range of environmental remediation services, including the subsurface delivery of remedial amendments using innovative techniques such as:
· pneumatic fracturing,
· pneumatic dry and liquid injection of amendments,
· directional injection, and
· performance verification of our projects, demonstrating radius of influence and subsurface distribution.
PFI provided services to consulting, government and private organizations nationwide, focusing on the application of the patented Pneumatic Fracturing and Pneumatic Injection technologies. Our mission was dedicated in providing complete and satisfactory remediation of sites that presented an unusual challenge. We were not just another fracturing company – we prided ourselves on being Responsive, Adaptable, Skilled and Innovative.
So while PFI as a company is no longer and the links on the left of this website are merely for informative purposes, I wanted to thank each and every one of my clients and contacts that I have fostered since the inception of PFI and let you know that I look forward to continuing my working relationship with each one of you for many years to come. Without you, my personal success and the inherent knowledge I gained would not have happened so easily.
Pneumatic Fracturing, Inc. (PFI) is a full service environmental remediation firm dedicated to complete and satisfactory remediation of any sites that present an unusual challenge. Since its inception, PFI has provided its services to consulting, government and private organizations, focusing on subsurface injection of remedial products including the application of the patented Pneumatic Fracturing and Pneumatic Injection technologies. The successful implementation of these technologies or any injection method is critical to the success of the remediation. PFI spends time in the conceptual design phase and during field application to ensure that our client’s objectives are met. Adjustments can be applied in the field, if necessary, based on real-time observations. PFI takes great pride in careful consideration before mobilization and the ability to adapt in the field, which provides our clients with quality products.
PFI, a woman-owned business (WBE), was founded in October 2000 by Ms. Deborah L. Schnell, a graduate engineer of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). While at NJIT, she studied under one of the original patent holders, Dr. John Schuring. PFI is a license holder in good standing recognized by the University as such with full authorization and support to practice the patented technologies. Ms. Schnell was also employed as an environmental engineering consultant where she focused her efforts on marketing and development of the technology for commercial application. Her extensive experience in remediation, innovative technologies and management skills gained as a consultant provided an excellent opportunity for Pneumatic Fracturing, Inc. to introduce a cost-effective cutting edge technology, focusing on working in conjunction with engineering and consulting firms.
Pneumatic Fracturing, Inc. considers its comprehensive intellectual property portfolio essential to the company’s future growth through internal development, licensing, and future merger and acquisition activities. PFI has established teaming arrangements and collaborative relationships with other specialty firms to provide clients a greater array of services which in turn create cost-effective solutions.
Pneumatic Fracturing is the injection of gas at high pressure and flow in order to create fractures or fissures in soil or rock matrix. Fractures or fissures occur when the pressure of injected gas exceeds the natural in situ stresses and the flow rate exceeds the natural permeability of the soils. In soil formations, Pneumatic Fracturing enhances the permeability by creating fracture networks; while in rock, the effect is dilation and extension of existing discontinuities; thereby improving the interconnection between existing fractures. The immediate benefit of Pneumatic Fracturing is improved access to subsurface contaminants so that liquids and vapors can be transported and extracted rapidly, which represents a cost savings in the installation and operational phases of a remediation project. Another advantage of Pneumatic Fracturing is that it can be applied within existing remedial systems as an enhancement and beneath or adjacent to existing structures and/or utilities.
