Poist Gas started more than 75 years ago as the HJ Poist Furniture & Appliance Company when our founder opened his doors to sell furniture and fix appliances.     After a few years, we began selling and servicing propane appliances – and stayed on that path for almost a century!    Today, Poist Gas is still based in Laurel and services residential and commercial owners in the surrounding area.     Whether we’re making a propane delivery, installing new gas lines, or servicing an appliance, we remain true to our tradition of providing top-notch customer service.   Every employee – from our dedicated truck drivers to our master gas fitters – believes in our mission of customer service, and won’t rest until the job has been completed.

Industrial Gas Sales

The Poist Gas Company offers rentals, refills and sales of Industrial Gasses out of our Savage MD, and Capitol Heights MD locations.Propane bottles up to 100 lbs sold and refilled.     Rentals and Sales are based on canister sizing and availability.     We are also happy to provide an inventory of parts and supplies for welding, etc. at our Savage MD location, and by order at our Capitol Heights location.

Our service technicians are capable of burying underground tanks, as well as running the gas lines. Our Master Gasfitters ensure that the job is always done professionally, and to the customer’s expectations.     Our residential services also include repair work. If your tank or propane appliances aren’t working properly, Poist Gas has experienced employees who show up on time and fix the problem.

Commercial Propane Services

As business owners, we know you’re only as good as the tools you use. So if your equipment runs on propane, Poist Gas is the company to contact.     We will happily deliver propane to your building or work site. Dropping off and picking up tanks is no problem, and if you need gas delivered on a regular basis we have a route system that is set up to meet your needs!     In addition to delivering propane, our service technicians are available to service and repair propane equipment on your site.     We’re the perfect fit for restaurants and food preparation businesses that rely on propane to keep things cooking.
