With energy prices on the rise, solar energy is not only making more sense from an energy independence standpoint, it is also making more sense financially. Along with the money savings, it is socially and environmentally responsible. Cecil and Norman Harrison got started with the idea of Solar Power when their family cabin needed power, they found it was far too expensive to bring power in from the grid and started looking for other options. When they couldn’t find a certified solar installer in Utah, Norman and Cecil decided to install solar panels on the cabin themselves. They were pleasantly surprised at how well the panels worked on the cabin and decided that they should look into what it would take to start a Solar Power Company. Norman decided to consult their childhood friend Robert Reeves, a state certified master electrician, about the venture idea and Progressive Power Solutions, Inc. was established in February 2006. Many hours of education were put in by the three principals and Progressive currently holds 5 licenses 3 state licenses and two nation licenses, currently more than any other installer in the state of Utah. Progressive Power Solutions has installed over 159 systems and these systems have created more than 167 Megawatts of electricity. Progressive Power has experienced 125% growth year to year for the last two years. We are expecting to grow that much again this year! 2014.
