In 2005 RILTA moved its operations from several smaller sites to the new purpose built facility at Rathcoole, Co.Dublin. This allows us to offer customers a wide range of recycling, recovery, treatment and disposal options for hazardous waste. The site operates under EPA licence W0192-03. In 2011 we opened a second site in Greenogue to cater for a further expansion in our services. This site operates under EPA licence W0185-01.

Accreditation

RILTA is accredited to Quality Standard ISO 9001, Environmental Standard ISO 14001 , Health and Safety Standard OHSAS 18001, and has UKAS and NSAI approval for drum reconditioning. Our total commitment to technological development and professional customer service has allowed us to set ever higher standards for the benefit of our customers and the environment.

RILTA processes over 100,000 tons of hazardous waste each year. Our dedicated team of experienced DGSA professionals, Engineers, Laboratory Personnel and Site Services Operatives, built up over the last 30 years, are available to respond to customer requests.

Asbestos Disposal

RILTA provides expert management of the disposal and remediation of sites with Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s). This includes the site investigation, excavation/packing and disposal of arisings from a couple of kilos to thousands of tons.

Battery Recycling

Lead Acid batteries are collected by RILTA nationwide for recovery at smelting sites throughout Europe.

Contaminated Soils

RILTA has over 15 years experience in site remediation, landfill remediation, soil treatment/disposal and groundwater treatment. We can carry out decontamination, disposal and groundwater remediation on a wide variety of sites, e.g. petrol stations, gas works, port developments etc.

Hazardous Waste Disposal

RILTA works with a network of European partners to find the most appropriate recovery process or disposal option for the full range of hazardous waste from flammable solids and liquids to corrosives and toxics. This covers wastes from all sectors and includes laboratory chemicals, obsolete chemicals, process waste, contaminated materials and radioactive sources.

Industrial Tanker Services

We offer clients the largest and most modern fleet of vacuum tankers and associated equipment in Ireland. We specialize in tank cleaning, forecourt services, confined space cleaning and all types of hazardous cleaning operations. All operations are carried out by fully trained staff to the most stringent standards of health and safety. All our operators are fully trained in Haz Chem (ADR), Safe Pass, Confined Space Entry, Chemical Handling, Manual Handling, Safe Working on Petroleum sites, Occupational First Aid.

Liquid Waste Treatment

RILTA’s physico chemical hydrocarbon waste water treatment plant supports the treatment of a wide range of aqueous wastes. These consists of waste from tank cleaning, interceptor cleaning and waste from the oil, petrochemical, chemical and industrial and manufacturing industries.

Packaging & Recycling

RILTA operates the only EPA Licensed Packaging, Reconditioning and Disposal facility in Ireland and can supply an extensive range of reconditioned packaging. We supply reconditioned tight head drums to all the leading lube oil distributors in Ireland. Our remanufactured open top drums are used extensively in the waste industry.

Waste Oil Reprocessing

RILTA Environmental’s facility is licensed to reprocess your waste oil and reintroduce it to the market for use as a fuel in ‘hot mix’ plants in the Asphalt/Quarry sector throughout Ireland as a substitute for heavy fuel oil.
