RT Electric, Inc. was established in 1976 and is a family-owned and operated electrical contracting company with our facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico. We are a licensed contractor in the following three states: New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. We currently employ over 100 full-time employees. Our company owns ample industry specific equipment and vehicles, all operated by an experienced workforce.

It is through successful and proficient implementation of company resources that we are able to manage a plethora of diverse projects. We handle all sizes of projects throughout the Southwest. To make more efficient and effective use of our diverse abilities, we have established four separate divisions:

• 24-hour emergency service

History

 RT Electric, Inc. founded by Robert Tegmeyer in 1976 in a garage with two employees, has now become a full-service design/build electrical contracting company. Having served the Las Cruces, El Paso and surrounding areas for over 38 years we are licensed in three states with the ability to serve customers in a large geographic area. As for experience, our journeymen electricians combined, account for well over 250 years experience.  Company founder, Robert Tegmeyer and President, Kevin Tegmeyer were key catalysts in developing a local chapter of the IEC (Independent Electrical Contractors Association) in 1990. Now President and founding board member of the local chapter, Kevin is a proud board member since its inception. Robert and Kevin have both demonstrated their commitment to excellence through education.  As commitment to quality and safety, all of our electricians go through a rigorous 4-year Apprentice Training Program to become Journeymen Electricians. Our experienced personnel allow us to complete both small and large-scale projects efficiently. RT Electric, Inc. promotes continuing education for its Journeymen Electricians to ensure they are kept abreast of current technology and advancements in the electrical industry.

In 2003, the founder of our company, Robert Tegmeyer passed away, ending an era. He will be forever missed as a mentor and a dear friend. With Roberts son Kevin Tegmeyer, daughter Karen Coleman and their management staff, RT Electric, Inc. lives on.  Today, we employ over 100 full-time employees and offer four separate divisions to better suit your needs: Construction, Service, Traffic Signalization and Street Lighting and Petroleum. In 2014 through these four divisions, the company grossed over 10 million in sales.  RT Electric, Inc. would like to acknowledge our loyal clients. Petroleum Facility Electrical Services Based in Las Cruces, NM

RT Electric, Inc. offers a vast array of petroleum services. From canopy lighting to complete fuel systems, RT Electric is your one stop shop.  RT Electric, Inc. owns and operates a fleet of one ton fuel trucks in New Mexico & Texas. Our fleet is completely stocked with all of the material necessary for any size fuel job. This provides us with the ability to perform installations in remote locations, while keeping cost down for our customers.

Our fuel techs are factory certified for installations of Veeder Root, Encon, and Red Jacket Tank Gauge Systems, as well as Gilbarco, Dresser Wayne and Tokheim Fuel Dispensers.
