SOLAR ELECTRIC

The sun is an amazing power source, and through photovoltaic (PV) technologies, we can convert its energy into the electricity that powers every aspect of your home and business life.  Solar energy is now one of the cheapest, cleanest, and most long-lasting energy sources available. Nationally, residential solar prices have dropped by 70% in the past 10-years. Over the same time, typical panel efficiencies have risen by 25%, and it’s common now to see 25-year panel materials and power production warranties.  When you consider installing solar with Solar Energy Solutions, you have three main options; stay connected to the utility grid, stay connected to the utility grid plus install battery backup and/or self-consumption battery system, or go completely off-grid. Solar Energy Solutions offers all three of these options for the homeowner and will look at your specific situation and help you identify which is best and most cost-effective for you. Systems are available to meet any need or specification, from 1% of your energy usage to 100%. 

GRID (UTILITY) CONNECTED SOLAR 

If your main goal with solar power is to save money on your electric bills for years to come, then a grid-connected or grid-tie PV system is the way to go. Over 95% of solar we install is grid-connected solar, which eliminates the need for a battery as a means of energy storage, and uses the grid as an energy bank when your solar generates more energy than you are using.  Solar Energy Solutions has worked with all the regional utility companies for years, and we do all the interconnection legwork for you. Our installations always include all fees and documentation required by the utility company, as well as all permitting, inspection costs and supervision to make your installation as smooth and worry–free as possible.

GRID (UTILITY) CONNECTED SOLAR + BATTERY STORAGE 

With all the benefits of grid-tie PV, it is increasingly common for people to want to keep their solar energy within their own four walls and use it to power their lives (self-consumption) when the sun has gone down. Equally, if you live in an area where your utility does not offer Net Metering or their compensation for your produced solar energy is not attractive, battery storage may be the answer.  Few solar installers have experience with battery storage design and engineering. Solar Energy Solutions has installed and maintained over 100 battery systems over our 13 years. Our expertise covers everything from old-school flooded cell batteries to the new Tesla Powerwall; no matter the situation, we can find the right solution to add on to your new or existing solar array. 

OFF-GRID SOLAR 

For remote rural homes, cabins, workshops, agricultural locations, or communication systems beyond the reach of the grid, or too expensive to run the grid to, Solar Energy Solutions has the experience and ‘know-how’ to find the right design for your energy needs.   Engineering off-grid solar is a unique and technical skill-set, requiring a careful analysis of the home’s energy usage patterns.  Those patterns that are then translated into the system design to ensure that sufficient energy is available in even the worst months of the year by storing that reserve in reliable and easily managed battery banks. Faultless engineering work is critical in off-grid situations as there is most often no backup.
