Call Before You Dig

One of the most potentially hazardous situations in residential areas, industrial plants and construction sites is accidental contact with underground electric power lines, natural gas lines, communication lines, and other utility services.

You can avoid this problem by calling an underground line locating service. There’s no charge for the service, and the call is toll-free. Calling before you dig can not only save you money from a damage claim, it can also save your life.

Now, all you have to remember is 811.

That’s the new FCC-designated number to call before any digging project. 811 will connect callers to their local One Call Center, which will notify area utilities to mark the approximate location of underground lines.
